DC Public Library has announced “Hail to the Fans: The Spirit of DC Sports,” a citywide exhibition opening April 2027. It asks residents to contribute the memorabilia, photographs and personal memories that will populate the show. Anyone whose life has been touched by DC sports may contribute. Items loaned for the duration of the exhibition remain the property of the owners and will be returned when the exhibition closes. Each contributor’s name will appear on the wall beside their object or story, becoming a permanent part of the public record of Washington sports. The exhibition runs April through October 2027 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library and all 25 neighborhood locations. Submit items and stories at www.dclibrary.org/hail-fans.
