Congressional Cemetery’s annual Soul Strolls returns this fall with its 2026 theme, “Becoming America,” exploring the tension between the nation’s founding ideals and the realities of American history through stories of those interred at the cemetery. Twilight tours take place Oct. 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31, featuring lantern-lit walks and costumed interpreters portraying activists, freedom seekers, reformers and ordinary citizens who helped redefine America’s founding ideals. Guests can enjoy live music, with themed cocktails and food available for purchase. Costumes are encouraged. Select tours offer family-friendly times and ASL interpretation.
