On Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., there will be a 5K run (or walk) through the grounds of the National Arboretum, ending at the Capitol Columns. This race is scenic, safe and secure. All roads will be closed to cars through this 451-acre urban green space. A professional race announcer will call out runners as they cross the finish line and there will be music before and after the event. Tickets are $45; ages 12 and under, free. Strollers and dogs are allowed, but dogs must stay on a six-foot, non-retractable leash. A virtual 5K option enables offsite participation. Sign up at fona.org.
