Visit the Folklife Festival and Marketplace

Explore history and culture through food, film and workshops on the National Mall this week at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Performers, cultural experts and culinary specialists will feature a variety of activities to explore this year’s program: Indigenous Voices of the Americas: Celebrating the National Museum of the American Indian.

Since 1967 the Smithsonian Folklife Festival has honored a plethora of different cultural traditions. This educational, research-based event features a variety of activities, performances and workshops for all ages to engage in this unique cultural exchange.

Hundreds of ceremonies, workshops, performances and activities highlight the festival.

The festival will take place from Wednesday, June 26 through July 1 and July 6 through 9. All events at the festival are free, and no advanced registration is required to participate.
