Connect with Nature and Vote for Your Favorite Local Garden

Find your favorite display of vibrant flowers and verdant greens as you reconnect with nature downtown. In collaboration with Smithsonian Gardens, the Golden Triangle BID is again hosting its annual friendly neighborhood tree box garden competition.

This year’s theme, Urban Oasis, focuses on transforming the downtown corridor into a “tranquil sanctuary.” This year, eleven gardens have been entered in the competition. You can find them along 17th Street NW, Connecticut Avenue NW and K Street NW.

Golden Streets works to promote urban ecology and sustainability throughout the city. In addition to enhancing the natural beauty of the space, the gardens create habitats for insects and birds.

Residents are invited to vote for their favorite neighborhood installation through Sunday, June 23, at 11:50 p.m.
