International Women’s Day Agora Highlights Female Artists, Small Businesses

Shop, dine, learn and listen at the International Women’s Day Agora. Hosted at The Ven hotel (2015 Massachusetts Ave. NW), this event features a variety of speakers, performances and live demonstrations on Thursday March 7 from 5 to 9 p.m.

The event will kick off with the opening of vendor stalls and a live painting demonstration at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., empowering speakers will speak on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Attendees are invited to stay for the duration of the evening to shop, dine and connect with the artists and speakers.

The agora, Greek for marketplace, will be open throughout the event and feature a variety of vendors, opportunities for networking and a raffle. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase from the hotel’s Fred & Stilla restaurant.

A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit The Margaret McNamara Education Grant (MMEG), a non-profit public charity working to improve the lives of women and children through support of higher education of women from developing countries.
