Explore the Kingdom of Bahrain through “The Sea of Life”

The Middle East Institute Arts and Culture Center (1763 N St. NW) art gallery is featuring a special collection entitled “The Sea of Life”. The exhibition, on display through March 26, features works explores artist connection to “natural and built environments” and the symbolism of water.

On the island of Bahrain, water is a “lifeforce” and is regarded as a “precious commodity to cherish and preserve” by its people. The works feature a variety of unique pieces and mediums including painting, photography, sculpture, video and more.

The collection also features some of Bahrain’s newest artists in addition to the works of established creators. Participating artists include: Rashid Al Khalifa, Marwa Al Khalifa, Mohammed Al Mahdi, Mariam AlNoaimi, Jaafar Al Oraibi, Abdul Karim Al-Orrayed, Mashael Alsaie, Jamal AlYousif, Nasser AlYousif, Ebrahim Bu Saad, Balqees Fakhro, Aysha Hafuz, Ghada Khunji and Abbas Yousif.
