Don’t Miss the 15th Annual ZooLights

The Smithsonian National Zoo (3001 Connecticut Ave NW) is kicking off the holiday season with the District’s beloved ZooLights display. Back for the 15th year, the event will feature more than half a million environmentally-friendly LED lights and illuminations.

Visitors can explore the zoo through immersive lantern displays showing rainforest, grassland, desert, ocean and polar habitats and the animals that call them home. In addition to winter light displays, visitors can enjoy live musical performances, holiday inspired treats and holiday shopping.

This year’s ZooLights dates are:

  • December 1, 2 and 3
  • December 8, 9 and 10
  • December 15, 16 and 17
  • December 21, 22 and 23
  • December 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30

The experience will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, and 5 to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

Tickets are $6 and are required for all guests over two years of age. Parking passes can be purchased for $30. Visit nationalzoo.si.edu for more information and to purchase tickets.
