Cool off and kick off summer at District’s third Van Leeuwen ice cream shop in Adams Morgan. The bustling corridor’s newest (and sweetest) addition is located at 2421 18th St. NW and is serving up unique scoops all day long.

New York City based ice cream maker opened its first DC location in the Union Market District (418 Morse St. NE) in March. While Van Leeuwen is behind some of the most unique flavors of ice cream on the market like Mac and Cheese, the shop features a variety of more traditional ice cream flavors including many vegan options.

The shop is focused on high quality ingredients and elegant twists on traditional ice cream flavors (think lemon poppyseed muffin and and peanut butter brownie honeycomb). The newest location Adams Morgan location will feature a local collaboration with DC Brau “Penn Quarter Porter”.

Co-founder and CEO Ben Van Leeuwen expressed excitement about the shops across three of the District’s neighborhoods

“We love D.C and are so excited to bring Van Leeuwen to the Nation’s Capital at last, we are lucky to have found three dynamic neighborhoods that will soon be home to our scoop shops,” Van Leeuwnen said. “We hope Washingtonians love our philosophy of ‘good ice cream that makes you feel good’ just as much as we do.”

Van Leeuwen is open Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. – 12 a.m. and Friday through Saturday 11 a.m. – 1 a.m.
