
Passion for fresh food, hospitality and mentorship distinguishes local chef and owner of RIS, Ris Lacoste, in the District’s culinary scene.
The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW), an organization dedicated to the growth development of the local restaurant industry, recognized Lacoste’s efforts and achievements with the 2023 Duke Zeibert Capital Achievement Award.
The award, named in honor of legendary Washington restaurateur Duke Zeibert, recognizes a chef whose hard work and outstanding initiative has increased the profile and success of the District’s dining scene and food service community.
Lacoste is a James Beard nominated chef whose creative culinary style was molded by her New England roots, Parisian training and adoration for American cuisine. The West End bistro serves seasonally inspired upscale American fare with a dynamic menu to showcase farm fresh offerings.
In addition to crafting delightful dishes for diners, Lacoste participates in a range of fundraising efforts across the District. She sits on the board of the DC Chapter of Re: Her, supporting young women entrepreneurs in our local food industry. Lacoste also invests her time as educator, helping young chefs perfect techniques in her kitchen which is consistently filled with passionate students honing their craft.
