It’s officially spring in the District, the blooms have hit their peak and the National Cherry Blossom Festival is well underway. Don’t miss this weekend’s cherry blossom events; there is something for everyone.

Party with your Pet

The Paws and Petals ‘Yappy Hour’ will take place on Friday March 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites (900 10th St. NW). The public, and their canine friends, are invited to enjoy happy hour food and drink specials including a special canine-friendly cocktail.

Don’t miss the ‘doggie swim’ in the hotel’s pool, speciality dog treats and fun for the whole family. Reserve your spot to attend here.

Cherry Night

On Friday March 31, an exclusive, one-night-only cherry blossom-themed celebration of DC nightlife through music, fashion and food. Additionally, a special streetcar, wrapped in official National Cherry Blossom Festival artwork, will be unveiled.

Cherry Night venues include: the Focus Social Club, Hook Hall, Metrobar DC, Wunder Garten and VUE Rooftop. You can read more about each venue and RSVP to attend here.

Oxon Run ‘Pinknic’ and Kite Fly 

There is something for whole family at the annual Oxon Run Pinknic and Kite Fly on Sunday April 2 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Oxon Run Park (Valley and Wheeler Rd. SE).

Kite flying and kite kits, live entertainment, music and a vendor market will be available throughout the event. Artists Elyscia and The GoJo Project will perform at the event.
